Environment Agency ECC Supervisor Secondment (2022-2023)– ECC supervisor for Wixoe Pumping Station HV and control refurbishment, also for river structures on the River Medway in Kent.

Environment Agency Project Engineer (2020-2022)– Secondment to West Midlands area, based at Tewkesbury and working in the Gloucester, Worcester and Severn area; working on flood defences and pumping station improvements.

Principal Engineer – Capita Real Estate & Infrastructure (2015-2019)

Godalming Flood Alleviation Scheme – Capita on behalf of Environment Agency providing Site Supervision and construction design support for a £3M flood wall and surface water pumping station in Godalming, Surrey.

Environment Agency ECC Supervisor Secondment (2018-2019)- ECC supervisor for Cardington Sluice (Beds.) refurbishment and Houghton Mill Sluice (Cambs.) winding equipment, frame and control system refurbishment.

Environment Agency Secondments (2017 - 2018) - Various secondments including Bradney (Bridgwater), Brampton (Cambs.) & Chelmsford (Essex) involved with business case preparation and production of contingency plans for flood defence assets. Also site sign-off of various asset refurbishments including Chertsey Weir, Shepperton Weir and Teddington Weir.

Environment Agency - Keadby Assisted Outfall (2015 - 2017)

This project was to conduct feasibility options, outline design information and tender information for the replacement pumping station and outfall at Keadby (Scunthorpe) which served the isle of Axholme catchment area. This included asset inspection, process design, control systems design, eel regulations compliance, pumping systems design and hydraulic design.

Senior Engineer ATKINS (2001 - 2015)

The Coal Authority (2015)-This project involved the design and feasibility of three options for ‘active’ schemes (i.e. using powered processes) for treating polluting low pH and metal-rich mine water discharges from a number of sites around the north of England. The options were for low-tech plant-based solutions, an intermediate solution with oxidation, settlement and filtration, and a membrane based process. An options study was produced for each identifying the major opportunities and challenges to be overcome along with an outline design for the preferred option with drawings and supporting information.

Wessex Water (2015) - This was to produce detailed designs for the control, instrumentation and automation for the forthcoming water supply reservoir at Martinsdown (Dorset) including the production of process & instrumentation diagrams, control philosophy for the operating software and site-wide layout drawings.

Environment Agency Asset Inspections (2014 - 2015)- This project was to inspect a number of assets used for river control and navigation. The assets included Boston Grand Sluice, Olney Sluice, Offord Sluice, St. Neots Lock, Wissey Sluice, Baits Bite Sluice, Godmanchester Lock and the Denver Complex. This included inspections of the mechanical elements such as winding drums and seals along with electrical, control and structural systems.

Southern Water Services Secondment (2013 - 2014) - This eight month secondment was to receive submissions from developers regarding new sewerage and pumping stations, and to assess and recommend options. Later involvement was to certify newly constructed sewerage and pumping stations as being compliant with the relevant specifications or where defects were identified, make recommendations accordingly.

Saudi Bin Laden Group – Jeddah Airport (2011 - 2013)- This project was to design sewers, surface drains, pumping stations, surge suppression, pipework, power & control systems for the wastewater sites at the King Abdulaziz International Airport.

Severn Trent Water (2010) - This project was to investigate the options for providing chlorination materials for a number of water treatment sites. The options included gas, liquid, hypochlorite and on-site generation and a number of factors such as cost, safety and practicality were included in the study for consideration by the operations team and Severn Trent Water.

Scottish Water Secondments (2007 - 2010) - Secondment to Aberdeen, Dundee & Edinburgh offices. Projects included water treatment plant automation upgrades at Aboyne & Invercannie, potable water pumping station upgrades in Aberdeen, reservoir control systems at Tanarside, very high pressure pumping transfer system design at Glendye.

Imtech Ltd. Secondment (2006) - Six month secondment to Imtech Peterborough producing tender design for sludge treatment centre at Great Billing Wastewater Treatment Works, Northampton.
