Marco has over 20 years’ experience in the Water and Environment Sector. He spent the first part of his career developing his technical, management and business development skills.
Between 2014 and 2018 he successfully grew a Water and Environment Consultancy Business of over 250 staff spread across 11 offices in the UK, with turnovers exceeding £20m/year.
He currently advises businesses; supporting the implementation of business transformation processes through designing bespoke resource and line management structures to drive efficiencies and collaboration.
He also provides commercial, financial and contractual advice on large commissions and gives support with the implementation of effective risk management systems and tools.

Steve has over 20 years’ experience working in environment, climate resilience/adaptation and sustainability, water, energy and natural resource management, in both the private and public sectors.
An experienced leader, with a proven track record in driving cultural change, influencing policy and regulation development at the central Government and EU level. He possesses excellent communication skills which he uses to great effect, particularly in his current employment, where leading the culture change of a sector presents many challenges and environmental opportunities.
Steve directs and chairs a broad range of policy, regulatory, technical and leadership panels, driving improved environmental performance and governance, sustainability commitments and commercial opportunities for operators and supply chain: through ‘Environment leadership’, ‘Minerals Planning’, ‘Seismic and Subsurface Risk Management’, ‘Integrated Water Management’, ‘Waste Strategy’, ‘Security’ and ‘Health and Safety Leadership’.
Steve is currently supporting the Environment Agency and it’s regulatory and policy partners; including defra and Ofwat; to shape the definition, capacity and capability for the future of Strategic Planning for Flood and Coastal Risk Management, whilst exploring opportunities for greater integration on water issues at the catchment scale. Steve is also supporting the growth of the Strategic Planning team, advising on a wide range of technical and management issues towards the next 5 year plan

Gary is a consulting engineer in the water and environmental management sector with over 19 years experience in engineering consultancy. His area of expertise is in river engineering, land drainage and water control with a solid understanding of the appraisal and design of engineering solutions and construction management and supervision.
His work covers the full project life cycle from strategy studies, project appraisals and production of business cases to detailed engineering designs and construction delivery. Projects have included flood risk management, water level control, hydraulic engineering, land drainage, inland navigation and waterways, habitat creation and environmental enhancement schemes.
He is currently seconded to several clients including the Environment Agency and Internal Drainage Boards providing Technical Advisory support and advice in flood risk management and water management roles. As part of his Environment Agency secondment, he is helping to develop a 15 year Strategic Outline Programme for the Cambridgeshire Fenlands area to provide continued FCERM asset management for all Risk Management Authorities in the Fens area. This includes developing a methodology for apportioning benefits between RMA assets to avoid the risk of double counting of benefits.

Senior Project Manager
Sophie is a chartered civil engineer, with over 11 years’ experience in the environment, power and energy sectors. Her expertise lies in delivery and project management of large (>£100m) infrastructure engineering projects with an M&E bias, including Oil and Gas projects, Nuclear Power Stations, Electrical Substations and Flood Alleviation.
Her experience includes the full project life cycle from strategy studies and FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and project appraisals to detailed engineering design, manufacturing and construction delivery. She has significant experience managing several different types of contracts, including NEC4, specialising in scope and contract management, schedule development and management, stakeholder management and change management having aligned all with both the APM and PRINCE 2 principles in previous roles.
She manages projects with precision and control and strives to not only understand the scope of the project, but to understand the technical details of projects; this allows her to manage project risks, schedules and maximise margins.

Martin is a highly motivated and experienced chartered engineer with over 27 years’ experience in the water & environment industry working directly for clients, such as Anglian Water, private engineering consultancies and the Environment Agency on engineering projects at all stages. He has experience from project inception and appraisal to detailed design and construction, including pumping stations, water and waste water treatment plant, pipelines, control systems and flood risk management schemes.
His core skills include the design of complex engineering solutions and control systems for water and flood risk management schemes, undertaking detailed asset inspections, condition assessment, feasibility studies and option appraisal. He is SMSTS trained for site supervision recently carrying out the site supervisor role for the Cardington and Wyton sluice refurbishment in East Anglian Area, plus design and commissioning support on the Godalming flood defence scheme in Surrey which included pumping stations as well as pipelines and river crossings.
Mark was a Director In the Environment Business within Capita and formerly the National Practice Manager for the Flood Risk and Coastal Management Practice within Atkins. He has over 25 years’ experience in the water industry and currently undertakes a Project Director and Review role across a variety of flood risk management projects.
He is a designated Feasibility/Appraisal Reviewer for flood risk management projects.

Nick has eight years of experience in river management, specialising as a geomorphologist in a variety of capacities using his technical knowledge to help deliver river management solutions which complement natural processes in lowland and upland river systems across England.
Nicks early career was spent at the University of Leicester (UoL). Following on from his Masters thesis about the practical application of remote sensing Digital Terrain Modelling (DTM) data in river management, Nick was appointed in the role of geomorphologist on £600k urban restoration scheme in Leicestershire. Nick subsequently became heavily involved with the design, consent and lead site supervision for of the project and gained a variety of experience delivering river restoration schemes during his time at the university.
Nick began working in consultancy in 2015, and continued to develop his technical skills, working primarily as a GIS technician, and as a geomorphologist on the Werrington Brook river restoration project where he was involved with design development and site supervision. Shortly after starting in consultancy, Nick was seconded to the Environment Agency (EA) Brampton Office, where he was a part of the Asset Performance and (AP) and Fisheries Biodiversity and Geomorphology (FBG) teams.
Recently, Nick has gained experience working on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) as both an environmental consultant and a technical specialist. As an environmental consultant, Nick has worked within the Water Resources (WR) and Water Framework Directive (WFD) teams on High Speed Two (HS2) Phase 2B and as environmental lead for the Lower Wey FAS and Rammey Sluice Fish and Eel Pass projects. As an environmental specialist, Nick has carried out fluvial audits and authored geomorphological assessments, including for the Carlisle Southern Link Road (CSLR) scheme.

John is a chartered civil engineer and PRINCE2 Practitioner with a wealth of experience of directing and managing teams engaged on water and flood risk management projects under various contract arrangements. His experience of a diverse range of projects for a variety of clients has enabled him to develop a combination of skills that have led to achievements in business management, project management and project delivery with consistent success and client approval.
He has an approachable and engaging leadership style that creates trust and underpins long term relationships earning the respect of clients, peers and project.

Senior Environmental Advisor
Anna is a proactive, adaptable and client-focused environmental consultant, with 13 years’ experience of delivering improvements to high-value infrastructure projects. She has an extensive track-record managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver EIAs, IS014001 accredited EMS and Consents and Environment requirements.
Her industry focus is the Infrastructure Sector, namely Rail, Water and Environment with further experience of Highways, Airports and Nuclear.
She is a clear and engaging communicator who builds relationships, drives collaboration and mutual trust. She is highly organised and takes pride in paying great attention to detail in order to achieve a top-quality service delivery.
She has a strong track record of delivering the Environmental and Consenting aspects of high profile schemes within a high-pressure and challenging environment, including a Lead Author role on HS2 Ph2b and Consent Manager on TE2100.

Peter is a Technical Director with 45 years’ experience in the Water sector. He spent the first 23 years of his career in the Contracting Industry managing the delivery of a variety of Civil Engineering schemes in the UK.
Thanks to this background, he gained an exceptional understanding of the construction environment and developed a strong approach to problem solving of practical and varied situations. His experience includes several Design & Build commissions, ranging from bridge construction and repairs, train stations, hotel extensions and hydraulic structures.
In 2004 he set up his own consultancy, Partek, focusing on the delivery of specialist advisory services to the Environment Agency and Local Authorities by taking on the key roles of NEC ECC Project Manager as well as Technical Advisor for a number of very high profile schemes.

Senior Environmental Advisor
Ben is a Senior Consultant with over six years’ experience within the Water and Environment Sector providing comprehensive specialist advice on Contaminated Land and Environmental Legislation – this includes ISO 14001, Environmental Protection Act, Water Framework Directive, Groundwater Directive, EIA Regulations 2017, IPPC Directive.
He has also developed strong expertise in delivering Environmental Due Diligence for property transactions as well as geo-environmental risk assessments and permitting.
Finally he has gained valuable experience in leading the scoping and supervision of Phase II Site Investigations and subsequently producing the resulting Interpretative Reports.

Senior Project Manager
Malcolm is an experienced Senior Project Manager and Chartered Water & Environment Manager of civil engineering construction, design and appraisal projects with budgets ranging between £300k and £30m. He gained relevant experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex foul and potable water, flood risk and ecological restoration schemes.
He is a registered PRINCE-2 Practitioner with a detailed knowledge of NEC3 contracts acting as the Project Manager under NEC ECC suite and both Employer and Consultant Project Manager for PSC contracts. He has experience of consultancy and client-side project management working for Mott MacDonald, Capita, Southern Water, the Environment Agency and, with Paige Utilities Solutions, on behalf of Network Rail, Balfour Beatty and Vinci construction.
Skilled in the core project management disciplines of programming, financial management and quality control in addition to risk management and stakeholder engagement, He is also experienced in the procurement and management of engineering and environmental services.
Malcolm is a Chartered Environmentalist and has experience of planning applications, CDM regulations, land ownership issues, Environmental Impact Assessments, ground investigations, coastal engineering, flood risk mapping, cost-benefit analysis, flood defence law, river restoration and protected species mitigation.
