Details of services provided: In 2019, Sophie was appointed Project Manager at Baker Hughes, delivering complex projects for production controls as part of wider EPC projects. The value of the programme of works was circa $80m and included managing the design, procurement, manufacturing and delivery of subsea communication modules and associated instrumentation. She successfully managed large multidiscipline teams to deliver to schedule and budget. She was responsible for project reporting to both EPC level and the client. 

Key achievements:

  • Value Engineering saving of $6m by reducing the functionality of wet gas flow meters to meet with client requirements, avoiding unnecessary over-engineering

  • Relationship building with the client, EPC and delivery teams and improving communication between all parties, which resulted in better issue and risk identification and management

  • Risk management - reduction of risk value ($16m) for chemical injection metering valve development, by undertaking early risk mitigation actions and proactive procurement with alternative suppliers
